AI Company Anthropic announced on June 8, 2026, the launch of its Swift package that allows integrating Claude into Apple’s Foundation Models for Apple’s developer community.
In this regard, developers would be able to utilise not only the power of the on device AI that comes with Apple’s developer toolkit but also Claude’s cloud based reasoning capabilities, thus gaining access to the best of both worlds.
The Foundation Models framework of Apple allows developers to use AI models that run on device to build applications. What is more important, the framework is really easy to implement and can even generate typed Swift results in only three lines of code. Until now, developers have been using the framework to execute such processes as summarization, data extraction, and content generation in app without requiring an internet connection.
Nevertheless, there is one problem: The on device Foundation Models cannot conduct reasoning, write code, or gain access to current information. So, now it is time for Claude.
The new framework offered by Anthropic connects Apple’s Foundation Models with Claude.
