The iPhone 17 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro are closer than they’ve ever been and that’s exactly what makes this comparison harder than last year. Apple completely redesigned their camera system. Google brought MagSafe style magnets to Android for the first time. Both phones are genuinely excellent, and both will disappoint you in at least one area you care about.
So instead of running down spec sheets, this review is built around one question: what do you actually use your phone for? Because the right answer here isn’t the same for everyone.
After years of nearly identical-looking iPhones, Apple finally changed things up. The iPhone 17 Pro drops titanium for a new aerospace-grade aluminum unibody frame, with a wider camera bump that Apple calls the “camera plateau.” It runs across the back of the phone in a horizontal band which adds bold, polarizing, and practical statements. It comes in Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue, and Silver.

Pixelsnap brings magnetic Qi2 charging (15W on the smaller Pro) for the first time and a growing accessory ecosystem to Android.
ProRes RAW recording is the first of its kind on any smartphone and it makes the iPhone 17 Pro a professional filmmaking device. This, paired with GenLock to synchronize multiple cameras and Log 2, is what the professional video creators have been longing for.
Dual Capture lets you record with both the front and rear cameras simultaneously. The 18MP Center Stage front camera with a square sensor gives the ability to capture landscape images and videos with the phone being held in an upright position, something surprisingly useful when used in everyday life.
The vapor chamber cooling system is incorporated into the aluminum frame itself and allows the A19 Pro to operate with full speed even under continuous pressure.
Both phones shoot stunning photos, but with different approaches. The Pixel has a warmer tone and AI-sharpened images that sometimes give an aggressive pop. While the iPhone 17 Pro delivers natural, true-to-life colors with consistently accurate exposure.

The battery of Pixel 10 Pro is 4,870 mAh which is considerably bigger than the iPhone’s (4252 mAh) and the powerful Tensor G5 chip allows it to do a lot with it. In web browsing and video streaming tests by PhoneArena, the Pixel actually leads the iPhone.
The iPhone is leading in the area of gaming and continuous heavy use is the efficiency of the A19 Pro for demanding tasks, coupled with the new vapor chamber cooling, and allows it to sustain longer performance without needing as much power.
In the custom battery test by Toms Guide, they found that the iPhone 17 Pro lasted 15 hours and 32 minutes on a single charge as compared to 13 hours and 43 minutes in the Pixel 10 Pro, which is a significant difference for power users.
On charging: Apple made a big improvement. iPhone 17 Pro now has wired charging at 40W, reaching 50% approximately in 20 minutes. The Pixel can receive 30W wired and 15W Qi2 wireless. The iPhone is compatible with 25W MagSafe wireless.

Its ProRes RAW makes it a go-to option for professionals and gamers who demand the best hardware. Neither phone is a bad choice. But they’re built around different philosophies and by the end of this review, you’ll know exactly which one fits your life.
Choose the Pixel 10 Pro if you’re deep in Google’s ecosystem, you rely on AI to help you through your day, you shoot a lot of photos across different conditions, or you simply don’t want to spend an extra $100 on the entry model. It can be a smart buying option, If you value flexibility and long-term software support.
Choosing the iPhone 17 Pro will be the best choice for people who want to use it for creating video content, playing games or want a smooth software experience with fastest processors. The redesign is making it feel genuinely upgraded.
