You can now build a website from your phone, no laptop needed

Lovable is one of most popular artificial intelligence (AI) coding platforms. Now, launched its mobile app on Monday. Available on both the Play Store and the App Store, the app brings vibe coding development powered to smartphones and lets users generate websites. While the mobile app does not come with the full functionality of the website, users can still prompt their ideas, preview the results, and iterate on them. The startup has also added cross-platform support, allowing users to switch between the app and the website without any issues (Techcrunch).
Use of this app is very simple, you can build apps from your phone using voice or text prompts. You put in your requirements, Lovable’s agent picks it up and runs with it autonomously. You can check back when the app is ready to use. The app also lets users switch between phone and computer mid-project, picking up exactly where you left off. It also pops quick notifications when output is ready for review.
One thing is complicated: the launch, when it comes to the launch on the App Store in the vibe coding category. Apple has recently blocked updates of the competing tools including Replit and Vibecode, citing violations of its developer guidelines. The issue is not vibe coding but a specific behavior of apps that download new code or change their own functionality after approval. This activity is considered Apple a security risk and a way of bypassing the App Review process (Gadgets360). This puts Apple’s customers’ safety and security at risk.
Lovable seems to walk this tightrope. Instead of hosting apps generated by its code editor, as was the case for other tools. Lovable opens app previews in a browser. This bypasses many security concerns and adapts to Apple App review policy. Its mobile app is more about creating functional websites and web-based apps, which are currently acceptable to Apple.
It’s been a tough few weeks for the space on iOS. Vibe coding app Anything was banned from the App Store. It was reinstated earlier this April with the necessary adjustments. Replit and Vibecode are still in compliance (Yahootech)
Lovable’s mobile launch is more important than politics. It marks a sea change in where vibe coders see their customers’ future. Writing down a great idea when it strikes, without having to pull out the laptop, is the use case the company hopes to tap. The question to be answered is whether that use case is big enough. For the time being, the app is out, it is in the stores, and it is compliant with Apple. That means it is a step ahead of most of the competition.
