RayNeo is finally making two different lines of augmented reality (AR) glasses for people with very different lifestyles, and really, it is about time someone made a difference between “work mode” and “movie mode”.
Today, the company announced the RayNeo iO Smart Glasses – perfect choice for multitasking professionals and the RayNeo GT Series (GT and GT Max), for people who need a personal IMAX theater at 30 thousand feet. Available starting September 4, 2026.
RayNeo is not some new player trying to carve out a niche in the AR glasses market. Currently, the company is leading the consumer segment with 23.7% of the shipment volume in 2026, according to Counterpoint Research, Q1 2026 data.
Such a market position means that this two-product launch is not some safety net, it is rather a strategic decision to cover two different scenarios instead of pushing one device that would fit all needs (PR Newswire).
If you need a solution to avoid looking down on your phone during conversations with clients, the iO is just what you need. Weighing just 33 grams and featuring a perfectly balanced distribution of mass, these AR glasses are designed to be worn comfortably all day long, thanks to the aerospace-grade titanium and magnesium-aluminum alloy frame design and Crown Panto silhouette.
The magic lies behind the waveguide display. Using a small monochrome engine, this device projects texts at 1,300 nits of luminosity while being 97% transparent. There is no need to turn the heads in order to check notifications they become readable even in the bright daylight. This feature distinguishes the heads-up display of the iO from many similar devices of the competitors.
But that is only half of the trick. The Ambient AI Life Log feature monitors meeting context in the background and extracts action items afterwards, helping to update the calendar using a simple nodding gesture.
The built-in artificial intelligence assistant works together with Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite but can be switched to other LLM platforms, such as ChatGPT, Claude, and DeepSeek, within the companion application. This is a good way to make sure that the software used in the AR glasses is always on the latest version and the best one available on the market.
Other useful features include the live translation function that allows translating 55 languages and 109 accents with just one-second lag. This is thanks to the Timekettle translation engine. Besides that, the four-mic array with bone conduction sound pickup provides better voice recording even in noisy environments. Bluetooth 5.4 and Apple MFi certification ensure flawless connection with iOS devices. All that is powered by a 240mAh battery providing up to two days of operation.
The GT and GT Max follow another strategy – bigger and louder. The GT Max provides 59-degree field of view thanks to the 5.5th-generation MicroOLED display. As a result, the user can choose the viewing area, scaling from 227-inch to 307-inch virtual screens. Combined with the RayNeo Pocket TV Pro, the glasses become the first AR glasses supporting Dolby Vision with real-time AI-powered HDR transformation for any content.
Movement tracking is ensured by the dedicated 3DoF chip with three modes, one that provides turbulence compensation for flights, another that pins the screen in one place regardless of movement and a mode that just follows the gaze.
Besides that, the quad-speaker system with improved bass response and special whisper mode provided by Bang & Olufsen can ensure private experience on the public transport.
Weighing 68 grams (GT) and 78 grams (GT Max), the glasses are noticeably heavier compared to the iO – but that is the price one should pay for the media experience. The GT Max model is available in three interpupillary distance sizes, which is an important feature that few brands consider when designing their products.
Both lines will start shipping on September 4 through RayNeo’s official website and Amazon storefront. The iO comes in two colorways – Polar Night and Dune; The GT Series is also available in custom prescription lens inserts for both models. RayNeo will demonstrate both product lines live at IFA 2026, Berlin, September 4-8.
The decision of RayNeo to make two different product lines instead of one universal device is the correct one. The iO looks like a practical tool for the professionals who require glanceable information without wearing the bulky headset, while the GT Max seems to be one of the most advanced solutions for mobile cinema.
The availability of Dolby Vision support could make it really stand out from the crowd – if it really works in practice. The pricing is still not known, but it is one of the main factors that could change the perception of the device. We will be monitoring the September 4 launch closely.
