Just when you thought the buzz around the Galaxy S26 was done for the summer, guess what? It’s right back with an invitation to the Galaxy event, which while vague, leaves enough clues in its wake to know exactly what to expect (Samsung Newsroom).
Samsung Electronics has confirmed that its Galaxy Event August 2026 would take place on August 27. The event will go live at 9 p.m. KST on Samsung’s official website and YouTube channel. For those in the US, the event will stream on the early morning hours of August 27 depending on your timezone (approximately 5 a.m. PT / 8 a.m. ET) so you might want to grab some coffee and catch it live or you can just wait for the replay.
The invitation doesn’t mention a device directly since Samsung has never done that before, but the press release sure does and gives away the game. The event will “unveil the newest addition to the Galaxy S26 family.” This device is designed to deliver the best of core Galaxy S26 experiences such as camera, AI, and the latest version of One UI in an affordable package.
This sentence pretty much gives away the fact that this is another fan edition release.
All signs point toward the answer being “yes.” Samsung’s invitations didn’t contain the word “FE” or even “fan edition” but the description matches the exact narrative of the previous Fan Edition releases. It’s a device that gets the best parts of the flagship — in this case, the Galaxy S26 camera hardware and AI tools — at an affordable price.
It matches Samsung’s release schedule too. Last year, the S25 FE was released in early September, S24 FE and S23 FE were both released in a late summer/early fall window. The Galaxy event scheduled for August 27 is definitely fitting in this timeline and likely the Galaxy S26 FE will be released to the public in 1-2 weeks after the event, as usual, for FE devices.
There are no confirmed specifications since the Samsung press release doesn’t contain them but based on the history of the FE line and the wording in the event description, we are expecting to see these on August 27:

Galaxy S26 has raised the bar for cameras and AI integration earlier this year but the flagship price tag is not for everyone. That’s why there is always a Fan Edition device. It gives buyers the best of the latest Galaxy device in terms of features and performance but in an affordable package that doesn’t include a hefty Ultra price tag.
Samsung usually manages to undercut the standard Galaxy device by a considerable margin while still including the AI features that make the Galaxy S26 generation so good with Galaxy AI tools, whatever Samsung decides to call free and paid going forward. And it makes sense, since “value flagships” sell really well.
